Description:

The Moses Mountain and Saint Catherine Monastery tour is a unique journey to one of the most sacred and historically important sites in Egypt. The program combines a visit to an ancient Christian monastery and a climb to Moses Mountain – both of which are important pilgrimage sites and cultural heritage.

Program:

Around 8:30 PM, pick up from your hotel and take a comfortable transfer to the foot of the mountain, where you will begin your climb. The mountain of Moses is a sacred place, associated with the biblical story that the prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments there.

Route:
The ascent to the top takes about 2-3 hours, depending on physical condition. There are two routes to choose from:
• The Penitential Stairs – about 3,750 steps, starting at the monastery.
• The Camel Path – a longer but less steep route over rocky terrain.

The climb is done at night so that tourists can see the magical sunrise at the top. It is an unforgettable spiritual and emotional experience that leaves a deep impression.

The summit of Mount Moses:
At the summit is a small chapel and the rocks on which, according to tradition, Moses carved the stone tablets with the commandments. Tourists and pilgrims can pray, meditate or simply admire the panoramic views of the Sinai desert.

After sunrise, the descent to Saint Catherine’s Monastery will begin.

Saint Catherine’s Monastery:
This is one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world, built on the site of the Burning Bush, from which, according to the Bible, God spoke to Moses. After breakfast, we will visit the monastery (without attending mass), see the Burning Bush and the Well of Moses, which has provided water to the monks since the Old Testament. There is also the opportunity to light a candle and visit the monastery’s souvenir shop.

At the end of the tour, return by transfer to the hotel.

❗ We do not recommend taking small children – climbing the mountain requires good physical condition.
