Description:

Petra is a historical and archaeological city carved into the rocks in southern Jordan, in the Ma’an region. It is famous for its extraordinary architecture and advanced water management system.

The pink and gold rock city is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Every year, it attracts millions of tourists from all over the world who come to admire its ancient monuments. The most important of them is the Al-Hazne Palace (“The Treasury”). The way to the center of Petra leads through the As-Sik canyon, which seems to have no end. Inside it, there are numerous structures, temples, caves, altars and even an amphitheater. The play of light and shadow gives this place a unique charm, making the journey through the canyon a magical experience that will remain in the memory for a lifetime.

Program:

1. Departure and transfer to Jordan

• Departure time: approximately 1:00.
• Transfer to Nuweiba Port: The journey by coach takes approximately 45 minutes.

2. Cruise to Aqaba (Jordan):

• In Nuweiba, tourists transfer to a ferry that goes to the port of Aqaba.
• Cruise time: approximately 90 minutes.
• Arrival in Aqaba – a Jordanian city on the Red Sea.
• After border control, transfer to Petra by air-conditioned coach.
• Travel time: approximately 2 hours.

3.Visiting Petra

• As-Sik Canyon – the entrance to the city
• Walk through a narrow canyon, 1.5 km long.
• The canyon has high rock walls, which in some places reach up to 200 meters.
• Along the way you can see rock carvings and the remains of ancient water systems.
• The play of light and shadow makes the views change depending on the time of day.

4. The Treasury (Al-Khazna) – the most famous monument of Petra

• After leaving the As-Sik canyon, the Treasury suddenly appears – an impressive structure carved into the rock.
• It was built in the Hellenistic style as a royal tomb.
• According to legend, the treasure of the Egyptian pharaoh is hidden in an urn on the façade.

5. Facade Street

• It leads from the Treasury further into the city.
• There are over 40 rock-cut tombs and houses where the Nabataeans once lived.

6. Roman Theatre

• It was carved into the rock and could accommodate about 4,000 spectators.
• Around the theatre there are numerous Nabataean tombs and houses.

7. Royal Tombs

• They are located in the rock on both sides of the theater.

The largest and most impressive are:

• The Urn Tomb – stands out for its monumental façade.
• Corinthian Tomb – resembles the Treasury, but is larger.
• The Palace Tomb – on the right, is characterized by a columned façade, built from the beginning of our era over the next 400 years.
• The tour of Petra takes approximately 4 hours.

8.Return

• After the tour, lunch at a restaurant (included in the price, drinks payable additionally).
• Transfer by bus to Aqaba.
• Return by ferry to the port of Nuweiba.
• Transfer by coach to Sharm el Sheikh via Taba.
• Arrival in Sharm el Sheikh: around midnight.

• As standard, the tour takes place with an English-speaking guide.
• If at least 10 Poles sign up, the organizer will provide a Polish guide.
